Location: Eldorado Outpost and Kings Mountain Point, near Troy, North Carolina
Welcome to the Uwharries. An ancient mountain range located in North Carolina, this area of extraordinary natural beauty and diversity is the perfect location for a celebration of the historical, cultural, natural, and recreational amenities unique to this region.
The festival is held the second weekend in October in the Eldorado community of Montgomery County, North Carolina with many activities taking place at Kings Mountain Point, a newly developed recreational day use area in the Badin Recreation Area in the Uwharrie National Forest. Surrounded on both sides by beautiful forest, water, and mountains, this is the ideal location to spend a Saturday.
With a list of activities that includes such events as a canoe adventure race, a beautiful trail run, a century bike ride, orienteering and geocaching, music in the mountains, book signings by local authors, nature walks, pottery demonstrations, and the taste of the uwharries, this event truly has something for everyone. Navigate our website to find out more about these events, directions, and contacts for more information. We look forward to seeing you in the Uwharries!
